Therapy services for young adults living with anxiety
Therapy services for young adults living with anxiety
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and I am the owner + founder of New Perspectives Mental Health Services, PLLC. My hope is that if you are reading this, you are ready to take the next step in your mental health journey.
Before opening my own private practice, I worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field. I began my therapy experience at a community counseling center on George Washington University's campus before interning at a private therapeutic day school in Fairfax, Virginia. My first post-graduate role was at a Washington, DC based private practice. I later moved home to Charlotte, NC and began working as an outpatient therapist in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools where I still meet with clients today.
I have worked with middle school aged clients as well as individuals in their 40's and everyone in between. Although I have enjoyed my work with each age group, I have found that working with young adults ages 17-30 is where I best fit. I wanted to have the space to help people like you process the life changes you are experiencing, and from that grew the idea of New Perspectives Mental Health Services.
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. Maybe you just started college and feel lost and overwhelmed or have just moved to a new city with no support system in place. You could be trying to decide what career will be the best fit, or maybe you feel confused after realizing that you don't want to continue in the career you chose several years ago. Oftentimes in early adulthood, relationships can also bring anxiety whether they be with friends, family, or romantic partners.
Do you want to learn how to be your most authentic self while also managing life's stressors? Then I want to help! Although I specialize in working with clients ages 17-30, everyone is welcome to reach out to connect. Our work will be collaborative. My approach is integrative, but I lean heavily towards cognitive behavioral therapy. This means that we will spend a great deal of our time focusing on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. We will also work together to build new coping skills so that you are able to continue the work outside of the therapy "room." I strongly believe that every person's needs are different, and I am prepared to meet you where you are.

This will be our first opportunity to discuss your therapy goals. This 15-minute conversation will be the time to tell me about what you are looking for in a therapist and to ask questions about my practices. If we agree that we are a good fit to work together, we will schedule an intake session and I will send you documents to complete prior to meeting.
Our intake session and all following sessions will be charged at a rate of $150 for 50 minutes. I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not accept insurance, but I am happy to provide superbills for reimbursement. If you are not sure if your insurance company will provide reimbursements for out-of-network services, please contact your provider directly to clarify your benefits.
I offer a limited number of reduced fee openings in my caseload. If you are interested in connecting but are unable to cover the $150 fee, please contact me and we can discuss this option together.
This policy will be discussed in detail during our first session, but it is asked that you provide 48 hours' notice for all cancellations. All cancellations made within the 48-hour window, as well as missed sessions (no-shows), will be charged the full rate of $150.
